The Stir Down with Steve the Bartender - Issue 012

I'm organising a cocktail party to celebrate the release of my book, Steve the Bartender's Cocktail Guide, and I'd love to extend the invite for anyone who wishes to come join me for a drink on the 17th of November at Threefold Distilling (4-8pm) in Adelaide.

Time for some #shorts! The book has nearly landed so I've started rolling out the videos that are featured within the book (via QR code). The videos are short, clear and concise and are designed to accompany the book for easy reference.

🔥 TIP OF THE WEEK

Label everything. It may seem like a lousy tip at first but think about it... If you're serious about making cocktails then you will undoubtedly end up with numerous homemade syrups, open vermouths, sherries, etc. all with a limited shelf life. And to make tasty drinks, you need good, fresh ingredients so labeling all your syrups and open (wine) bottles will ensure that you aren't accidentally using old stock.

At the very least, grab yourself a Sharpie and a roll of masking tape and start dating EVERYTHING. I'm the worst culprit at NOT doing this and I regret it every time. Otherwise, if you want to splurge a little, grab yourself a label maker such as this one.

👨 WHAT'S HAPPENING

Last year Kevin Kos created a cocktail to help spread the word, and raise funds, for men's health via Movember. This year I've joined forces with Kevin and the crew and I'm aiming to raise $1000 on behalf of the team. Please consider donating - all funds go toward medical research and men's health programs.
